When the device is first launched, you will be prompted to enter a username (0-6 characters in length). Use the L and R buttons to scroll left and right through the alphabet. Select a character with the select button. Erase a character by selecting the ← character. Finish setting your username by selecting "OK" from the list.

To change your username, click: Settings → My Profile → Username
